Eleanor Bitsie

MEXICAN SPRINGS — Funeral services for Eleanor Bitsie, 61, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, at the Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Stanley Jim officiate. Burial will be in Lone Pine Cemetery in Mexican Springs.

Bitsie died Aug. 11, 2011, in Gallup. She was born on Aug. 27, 1949, in Gallup into the Folded Arms People Clan for the Red Running into the Water People Clan.

Bitsie graduated from Gallup High School and got a certificate from Albuquerque Business College. She worked at BIA Property and Supply, was Mexican Springs Chapter secretary and treasurer, and worked for the NHA and at Mexican Springs Trading Post.

Survivors include her daughters Kristin Bitsie, Kimberly Francisco, Shawna Mathews, all of Mexican Springs; brothers Peter Bitsie, Walter Bitsie Jr., Calvin Bitsie, all of Mexican Springs, Arthur Bitsie, of Kirtland, Richard Bitsie, of Navajo, and Donald Bitsie, of Paradise, Calif.; sisters Caroline Becenti, Elizabeth Jones, Maebelle Thomas, and Barbara Bahe, all of Mexican Springs, and five grandchildren. Bitsie was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Freda M. Bitsie; sister Wilhelmina Bitsie; brother Wilsie Bitsie and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Jones, Kevin Jones, Jacob Jones, Josiah Jones, Stacy Badonie, Pete Garcia III, Greg Bitsie, and Nicko Jessup.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Marian Skeet

BREADSPRINGS — Funeral Services for Marian Skeet, 91, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, at the Cope Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.

Skeet was born May 16, 1920, in Big Lake Springs into the Folded Arms People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Skeet enjoyed weaving, crocheting and ranching.
Survivors include her son Timothy Skeet of Breadsprings; daughters Bernice Gishey and Irene Boyd, both of Breadsprings; sister Lucy Curly; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Skeet is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Skeet; daughters Mary Bitsilly, Naomi Owens, Margaret Chee, Marie Chee; son Wilson Skeet; sisters Pauline Begay, Beatrice Bitsilly, Mary Lou Thomas, Elizabeth Benally, Mary Yazzie, Elsie Yazzie, and Anita Benally; brothers Johnny Benally, Ben Joe, Kee Chee, Joe Francis and Deswood Yazzie.

Pallbearers will be Merle Owens, Doyle Owens, Daryl Owens Virgil Boyd Jr., Daniel Boyd and Christopher Owens.

The family will meet at Breadsprings Chapter at 6 p.m., Aug, 11.

Cope Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
